History of Robert G. Durgin Post 67
On December 14, 1919, the first meeting of Post 67 was held with twelve members present. Temporary Officers were elected. James B. Griffin was elected Tempororay Chairman and John F. Durgin was named Temporary Secretary. At this meeting a constitution and by-laws were discussed and adopted.

Our official Charter was not signed until April 28, 1922 but the membership was active from the first meeting until then.
The Post is named in honor of 1st LT. Robert G. Durgin, US Army, of Newmarket who died enroute to France while attached to the 73rd Coastal Artillery Battalion.
